Whilst the vast majority of our projects continue to be CAT A and CAT B fit-outs within the commercial office sector we are happy to produce bespoke joinery in any sector, and as such are delighted to have been chosen by Lansgrove to supply and install joinery for a private residence in Kensington, London.
Whilst we are happy to undertake any bespoke joinery orders from £10k to £350k plus, it is always a pleasant change to be involved in producing a unique joinery item, even more so when it has been designed for the architect’s own office. This veneered timber screen, incorporates different sized clear acrylic panels to create a stunning feature enclosure to an internal staircase allowing the office to also benefit from receiving natural light throughout.
It was an extremely busy end to a very strange year for us all. Despite the disruption, worry and uncertainty of Covid we were still able to continue manufacturing throughout the year and deliver more projects than in 2019.
Having completed the CAT A fit-out of 85 London Wall earlier in the year for a different main contractor we were delighted to be chosen by Epiphany to supply and install the bespoke joinery for the upper floors. The project ran seamlessly from production of drawings to handover before Christmas, allowing everyone involved to have a well earned festive break. The client is delighted with the finished product which is the ultimate sign of a job well done.
After 3 years of steady growth and with a client base keen to have us involved in bigger projects we decided that we needed a larger factory in order to satisfy demand. Our new factory has allowed us to install additional machinery – such as a new edge bander, a second panel saw and a purpose built self enclosed 70m2 spray booth.
The additional space has also allowed us to take on a further two bench joiners and we are already seeing the benefits, with both reduced lead times and the ability to take on extremely fast track orders. everything on budget so there are no nasty surprises at final account.
With plans to take on an additional estimator and increase the factory size from 12500 sg ft to 15500 over the next couple of years these are exciting times for Empire and our customers.
After our successful move to the new factory, the East Midlands Business Link did an article about our business where Dean Strouther and Luke Pella shared their experience in acquiring a new factory.
Empire were appointed as the joinery contractor on one of my projects following successful negotiations and met the budget costs following issue of detailed drawings and offered VE options where designs were impractical. They have proven many times that they are an honest, reliable, quality specialist contractor and are a pleasure to work with.

A big thank you for your efforts at the New Victoria Private Hospital Project. Following a very late client instruction, your ability at short notice to turn your package around helped us complete the project on time and to budget. Communication from yourselves from the offset was brilliant. Initial meetings attended swiftly, drawings produced and minor comments turned around quickly, you issued regular progress photos throughout the manufacturing process, and you were actually ready before us. Install team was also very professional.

Throughout the duration of the project Empire performed with professionalism. Clear direct lines of communication ensured that programme dates were met and an end product of exceptional quality was delivered.
